NCAMPO 2015 Conference
“At the Crossroads”

April 29 - May 1, 2015

Downtown Raleigh

About the Conference

The 2015 North Carolina MPO Conference will be an excellent continuing educational opportunity that will attract a diverse range of transportation planning professionals. The Conference features a comprehensive array of high quality technical sessions, special speakers, and timely agency updates. More than 300 participants from MPOs, RPOs, NCDOT, the consultant community, transit agencies, and other organizations are expected to attend the conference. While transportation planners, engineers, and consultants make up the core participants, the conference also offers an opportunity for transit administrators, elected officials, land-use planners, students, and others to learn more about a variety of transportation related topics.

Conference registration will be $175, and will increase to $200 after April 1, 2015. The conference hotel is the Sheraton Raleigh, and the room rate is $169 for single or double occupancy.  All presenters must register for the conference and pay the conference registration fee to attend the conference; being accepted as a presenter does not register you.

Technical sessions will occur on April 30th, with two 90-minute time slots in the morning and two in the afternoon. Four sessions will run concurrently during each time slot, for a total of 16 sessions. Conference attendees can select sessions from four tracks: Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning, Technical Toolkits, Land Use & Transportation, and Data Collection & Modeling. There will also be a variety of mobile workshops for an additional fee to allow attendees to explore the transportation landscape in the Capital Area.

A special keynote luncheon presentation will be given on Thursday by Dr. Ruth Petersen, the NC Division of Public Health's Chronic Disease and Injury Section.

The conference is presented by the NC Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations and the NC Association of Rural Planning Organizations in cooperation with NCDOT.

More information about the conference, program, sponsorship opportunities, and mobile workshops will be posted to this page as it becomes available. For questions regarding proposals, contact Shelby Powell at or (919) 996-4393.
